10808-10860 Culver Boulevard
Wende Museum campus and Creative Community Center project area in Culver City. The 10858 Culver Boulevard portion was historically used by veterans organizations, including AMVETS, from the late 1970s until the property was vacated in 2018. Culver City records state the buildings were classified as 'Recognized' in the 1990 Historic Preservation Advisory Committee report, meaning they were considered of architectural, historic or cultural interest. The later Wende redevelopment therefore followed a documented public debate over historic preservation, veteran-service use, housing and cultural reuse.
