Steve Levin email to Quoc Tran on real estate study, CCPD MOU and Board agenda
A September 28, 2022 email from Board member Steve Levin to Superintendent Quoc Tran proposes changes to the next Board agenda following a frustrating prior meeting, including a staged real-estate study, public explanation of the CCPD MOU and shorter meetings.

Levin proposes an agenda item that would avoid framing the work around workforce housing and instead authorize a consultant to inventory and evaluate district real-estate assets, develop a community-engagement plan and proceed in stages only after further Board approvals and broader agreement.
He says the CCPD memorandum of understanding should return at the next meeting but argues that the public first needs an explanation of existing practice and how the MOU relates to it. He describes his impression that the MOU largely codified what the district was already doing.
Levin also suggests mechanisms to shorten Board meetings, including prioritizing items that cannot be postponed and using a 10 p.m. checkpoint. For agenda items with a dollar amount, he proposes showing both the dollar figure and its share of the annual budget, using $500,000 as an example he describes as roughly 0.5 percent of CCUSD's total budget.
